Lead Terms of Use

Last updated: April 17, 2026 (V43).

By clicking "I agree," you accept these terms. You must accept them before you can operate a channel on CommUnity OS.

1. Who you are

You are a "Lead" — a community figure authorized by an Operator (a partner organization) to administer a channel on the CommUnity OS platform. You are not an employee of the platform operator.

2. What you can do

You can configure your channel, post knowledge-guide content, moderate comments, and interact with Residents in your channel. You cannot add legal, medical, or financial advisory services unless you are a professional licensed to provide them in your jurisdiction and you comply with the rules of your profession.

3. What you cannot do

4. Content you create

You retain copyright in content you create in your channel (guides, posts, moderator messages). You grant the platform operator a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, distribute, translate, modify for moderation, and sublicense within the CommUnity OS network.

5. Moderation duties

You are responsible for moderating your channel. You must remove content that violates the Resident Terms of Service or these Lead Terms. You must maintain a good-faith moderation log for material takedowns.

6. No representations beyond these terms

The platform is provided AS IS. The platform operator and your Operator are not responsible for the acts or omissions of Leads. Your Operator may impose additional rules; Operator rules do not override these terms except where stricter.

7. Termination

The platform operator or your Operator may suspend or terminate your Lead status at any time for breach of these terms or for any reason consistent with the Operator Agreement. On termination, your channel content may be preserved, transferred to Operator, or deleted per the Operator Agreement.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the platform operator's aggregate liability to you under these terms is limited to $100. You and the platform operator waive class-action participation in any dispute arising from these terms.

9. Governing law

Illinois. Venue: Cook County.
